What is on the real Ontario G1 written test?
The G1 test has 40 multiple-choice questions in two 20-question sections: rules of the road and road signs. You must score at least 16 out of 20 in EACH section to pass. It is offered at DriveTest centres in English, French and many other languages.
How much does the real G1 test cost?
The G1 package (knowledge test, first road-test booking and a five-year licence) has a government fee — check DriveTest.ca for the current amount, as fees change.
How long must I stay on a G1 licence?
At least 12 months, or 8 months if you complete a government-approved beginner driver education course. The G1 itself must be upgraded within five years.
What are new G1 drivers not allowed to do?
Drive alone (a qualified G driver with 4+ years of experience must sit beside you), drive between midnight and 5 a.m., drive on 400-series highways or high-speed expressways without a licensed instructor, or have any alcohol or cannabis in your system.
